Is Boating Expo a sure sign of spring?

Winter is waning. That means it won't be too much longer before Michigan lakes, rivers and streams are rippling with legions of watercraft.

Organizers of the Novi Boating Expo, slated to run March 18-21 at the Novi Expo Center, are hoping boating enthusiasts are feeling optimistic about winter's impending demise and make their way to the 7th annual show.

Nearly 16,000 people came out for last year's event to see a diverse range of displays that included ski boats, pontoons, small-to mid-sized runabouts, personal watercraft and inflatables.

This year more than 200 exhibitors will display hundreds of boats and the latest in boating equipment and accessories.

The Michigan Boating Industries Association sponsors the Novi Boating Expo.
